DR. HON HENRY KOKOFU VISITS SUNON ASOGLI POWER PLANT AS PART OF HIS TWO-DAY FAMILIARIZATION TOUR
The Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, as part of his two-day familiarization tour, visited the Sunon Asogli Power Plant among others on Friday, 5th March 2021 with a delegation of about twenty people
This was to furnish him first-hand information on operations, management, assess the level of compliance to industry standards, and create continuous awareness of EPA’s standards.
While at Sunon Asogli Power, management briefed his team of our readiness to invest in a $130million Wind Power and Waste power project. This is in line with the company’s vision to power development with renewable energy. Also, the deputy marketing manager, Mr. Elikplim Apertogbor, reiterated that there had been no records of accidents and casualties in the power plant and the company continues to abide by EPA’s standards.
Dr. Henry Kokofu at the end of his tour expressed gratitude to the industries complying with the various environmental safety practices. He called for closer collaboration between the EPA and industries to ensure a mutually beneficiary relationship to promote sustainable environmental safety.
