Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited is situated in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality. Over these years, the Company has been involved in developing human capital among other things in giving back to the society. As part of Corporate Social Responsibility to the community, the company is not only investing in human capital but also the physical infrastructure. For this reason, the Company and its Shareholders saw the need to construct a durable concrete access road to provide ease and convenience in movement for the people of Kpone.

Under the auspices of the company, shareholders and Chinese stakeholders, four (4) excellent but needy students in the community have been aided with full scholarships to undertake further studies in China.

As part of efforts to improving the intellectual abilities of the children in the community between Basic to Junior High Schools, the company has partnered with Read Global Foundation as the headline sponsor of its annual reading day program and subsequent reading events.

In line with human security, Sunon Asogli has provided street lights to the Kpone Main Road School Junction, Kpone Old Station Junction, Kpone Market Station, Kpone Jamestown and the Kpone Apostolic Junction areas that were hitherto not lit.

Construction of the second phase of the 2km access road near the company through the community is currently underway.

Employees of Sunon Asogli Power spent their Easter Friday with the kids from Mahlef Foundation which is a foundation that runs and maintains a facility that houses and caters for the needs of pregnant teens and their babies in crisis situations. The Educational and Teen Pregnancy Centre is located in Tema New town. The Open Day started with an introduction of the kids to Management, followed by a tour of the power plant. They then partied with the kids and donated several items to the foundation, which includes cement, paint, food items and toiletries.

Employees of Sunon Asogli Power on Thursday, 29th of August 2019, undertook a beach clean-up exercise. This was to promote good sanitation in the community and foster a good relationship between the company and the community.

The first phase of a 2km road has been constructed by the Company which provides great convenience for residents in Kpone.

Our Social Responsibility to Help Fight the COVID-19 Pandemic

As a socially responsible organisation aware of the gravity of the coronavirus disease, the company once again showed its commitment to the Ghanaian people through corporate social responsibilities, right from the National level through to the host community. A responsive donation of $100,000.00 was made through Chairman Yang and Togbe Afede XIV, a Director of the company, to the COVID -19 Fund set up by H.E. the President of the Republic of Ghana. Separate donations of a great number of disinfectants, as well as other PPEs, were made to the Ministry of Energy, Ho Regional Hospital, Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly, Kpone Traditional Council, Ghana National Fire Service, the District Electoral Office in Kpone just to mention a few.

MAHLEF Donation

Christmas Love Donation to MAHLEF

Between 13th to 20th December 2021, employees of Sunon Asogli Power organized a love donation activity where they were to donate any amount of cash from their hearts in support for MAHLEF foundation which is located in Tema New Town.

The Month of Love – Cleaning Up the Beach to Build a Better Home

The clean-up exercise demonstrates the company’s commitment to keeping the environment clean and ensuring a cleaner Accra. Over 100 bags of garbage consisting mainly of plastic waste were collected, and approximately 1,800 square meters of beach were cleaned up. Over 100 volunteers participated in the two-hour-long exercise.

Donation of Medical Equipment to Kpone Polyclinic

To mark the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Kpone Polyclinic, Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited, donated a Chemical analyzer and a Sysmex Hematology Analyzer worth approximately GHC100,000 to the Polyclinic.
