Sunon Asogli Power Marks World Hypertension Day with Employee Health Screening
Date: 27th May 2025
In recognition of World Hypertension Day, Sunon Asogli Power partnered with the Ghana Health Service (Kpone) to organize a health screening exercise for employees at our power plant. The screening took place on Tuesday, 27th May 2025, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at our company premises.
The health screening focused on measuring blood pressure and raising awareness about hypertension, which is one of the leading risk factors for heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. Often referred to as the “silent killer,” hypertension typically presents no symptoms in its early stages, making regular checks essential for early detection and effective management.
Medical professionals from the Ghana Health Service were on-site to conduct the screenings, offer personalized health advice, and provide referrals for further medical consultation where necessary. A total of 162 employees participated in the exercise.

The importance of monitoring blood pressure cannot be overstated. Knowing your numbers allows you to take control of your health and make informed decisions about your lifestyle such as adopting a healthier diet, exercising regularly, reducing stress, and limiting salt and alcohol intake.
This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to employee well-being and workplace wellness. By promoting regular health checks and education on non-communicable diseases like hypertension, we aim to foster a culture where preventive health is a shared responsibility.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Ghana Health Service (Kpone) team for their dedication and support in making this initiative a success.
At Sunon Asogli Power, we remain committed to supporting the health and safety of our people because a healthy team is a stronger, more resilient team.
