Sunon Asogli Power Celebrates End-Of-Year Party in Grand Style

The spring festival is the largest and most important festival in China. It marks a new year on the lunar calender. This year’s Chinese new year fell on 22nd January, 2023, which begins the year of the Rabbit according to the Chinese zodiac. The year of Rabbit signifies wealth, longevity, and peace. Sunon Asogli Power Limited, a Chinese owned company also took part in the celebration of the Spring Festival.

The Celebration begun with pasting of Spring Festival couplets and hanging of the ‘deng long’ meaning red lantern. These couplets are written in red paper with gold paint. These was pasted on all sides of our gates to signify the festive season and the red lanterns hanged at the entrances of the power plant.

On the 21st of January 2023, a diner was organized to mark the celebration of the Spring festival. The Chairman, Mr. Yang Qun, General Manager, Mr. Jin Zhengyi, and his deputies graced the occasion. Some Ghanaian staff were also invited to celebrate the occasion.

Just like the celebration of the spring festival in China, there were several performances to bring light to the night. The were performance like the dragon dancing, lion dancing, and different groups singing melodious Chinese songs. The Chairman, Mr. Yang Qun, the General Manager Mr. Jin Zhengyi and his deputies went the extra mile to excite the crowd with their performance. Ghanaian staff were not left out as they also sang beautiful songs on the night.

Chinese traditional foods such as dumplings which signifies wealth, noodles which represent longevity, fish which symbolizes good luck were served. The dinner ended with great cheers as the fireworks lit up the sky.
