Addressing the gathering, Mr. Yang Qun, the Chairman of Sunon Asogli Power, expressed his gratitude for the presence of management and staff, the media, and, most importantly, the students of the Kpone community. He emphasized the incredible potential that each child possesses and the critical role that STEM education plays in Ghana’s development.

It equips young learners with the essential skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the world around them. Sunon Asogli Power, being a leading power generation company in Ghana, sees the importance of promoting STEM education in our schools and communities. By investing in the education of our youth, we ensure a brighter and more sustainable future for Ghana. During the Open Day, the students had the opportunity to delve into the practical aspects of STEM education. They embarked on an eye-opening tour of our power plant, where they witnessed firsthand how electricity is generated and gained valuable insights into the energy sector. The career talk by our passionate engineers enlightened the students about the exciting possibilities and rewarding careers available in STEM fields. This was followed by a fire drill which was to teach the students how to fight a fire and be safety conscious.

Moreover, the Open Day was not just about education; it was about igniting the imagination and dreams of the young participants. Sunon Asogli Power firmly believes that true knowledge comes from the combination of theory and practical application. Through this event, we aimed to provide an immersive experience that would inspire the students to believe in their potential and strive for greatness.
