Celebrating Success: Sunon Asogli Power’s HSK 1 Class Concludes with a Grand Closing Ceremony
In a triumphant moment of achievement and commitment to employee growth, Sunon Asogli Power held a memorable closing ceremony for its second batch of the HSK 1 class on Friday, 11th August, 2023. The event marked not only the end of an intensive learning journey but also the beginning of a new chapter in the participants’ language skills and cultural awareness.
The HSK 1 class, which is part of Sunon Asogli Power’s ongoing commitment to employee development, focused on providing employees with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to communicate effectively with their Chinese colleagues and bridge the language gap. This initiative not only promotes enhanced communication within the company’s diverse workforce but also cultivates a deeper understanding of the cultures and languages of its partners and stakeholders.
The ceremony was graced by Ms. Catherine Danzhu Lou, Director of political affairs of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Wang Jimin, Director, Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana, and Head teachers of the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana.
Addressing the gathering at the ceremony, the General Manager, Mr.Jin Zhengyi congratulated the graduates for their hard work, commitment and determination. In his speech, he stressed on the importance of learning a new language stating that “ Learning a new language is a journey that necessitates persistence, patience, and a willingness to step outside of one’s comfort zone. You have all demonstrated these qualities admirably in this HSK 1 class. The Chinese language is a gateway to a rich cultural heritage as well as a bridge to millions of people all over the world.” He encouraged the graduating class to continue their learning journey, delve deeper into the language, and investigate the possibilities that come with being able to communicate in Chinese.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates to each participant by the company’s management. (3) staff, Anthony Nartey, Fiifi Korateng and Emmanuel Okoe Borketey were recognized for their outstanding achievements and merit. In addition to the certificate presentation, the closing ceremony featured cultural performances such as the Lion dance and face changing dance from students of the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana. These performances not only added an artistic touch to the event but also served as a reminder of the rich cultural diversity that Sunon Asogli Power values and promotes within its organization.
