In a significant step toward advancing Cameroon’s energy infrastructure, Sunon Asogli Power recently welcomed a high-level delegation from Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH), Cameroon’s national petroleum corporation. This strategic visit follows Sunon Asogli Power’s competitive selection as the preferred bidder for Cameroon’s 350 MW natural gas power generation project, secured through a comprehensive prequalification and bidding process, where SNH will serve as the primary gas supplier.

On July 14 2025, the delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions with Shenzhen Energy Group’s executive leadership, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expediting project delivery timelines. The visit included technical tours of key facilities, notably the Shenzhen Dongbu Power Plant and the Longgang Energy Ecological Park, where delegates observed cutting-edge power generation technologies and innovative sustainable energy practices.

Demonstrating the collaborative spirit of the partnership, SNH formally acknowledged the exceptional hospitality and technical proficiency demonstrated throughout their engagement. In their official correspondence, SNH emphasized their commitment to the project’s success, stating: “Our shared objective remains the successful realization of the natural gas power generation project in Cameroon, ensuring satisfaction for all stakeholders and delivering meaningful benefits to the Cameroonian people.”

Sunon Asogli Power values this constructive partnership with SNH and anticipates continued collaboration to ensure the successful delivery of the 350MW gas-fired power facility, thereby strengthening Cameroon’s energy security and advancing sustainable development objectives.
