Sunon Asogli Power Wins Top Honours at the 2025 HESS Awards

Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence by emerging as a top winner at the 7th Edition of the Health, Environment, Safety, and Security (HESS) Awards held in Accra, Ghana, on 20th June, 2025.

At the prestigious event organized by Ianmatsun Global Services Ltd with support from the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, Environmental Protection Authority, Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, and partnered by the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA), Sunon Asogli Power was recognized as the Most Outstanding Contribution for Sustainable Development 2025 and the Most Outstanding Contribution for Energy Conservation 2025.

Speaking on the theme for this year’s event, “Empowering a safety-first culture: Leadership “Accountability and Transparency in HESS, the guest speaker, Dr. Winfred Korletey Baah, acting Registrar of the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA), emphasized that “the only sustainable response is a safety-first culture, and that culture must be led, not managed; it must be demonstrated, not delegated. Leadership in HESS is not about issuing memos from corner offices; it is about leading by example, setting the tone at the top, and making safety an integral part of an organization’s DNA”. Mr. Kwame Wang, chairman of Sunon Asogli Power, received the awards on behalf of the company. He expressed profound gratitude to the HESS Awards organizers and the panel of judges for the recognition.
