Sunon Asogli Power has been named Power Generation Company of the Year at the 8th Ghana-West Africa Business Excellence Awards (GWABEA), held on 7th June 2025 at the Kempinski Hotel, Accra.
The award recognizes Sunon Asogli Power’s continuous contribution to the energy sector in Ghana and the West African region. The Ghana-West Africa Business Excellence Awards celebrates individuals and organizations that are driving growth and making a positive impact in various sectors across West Africa. The event was graced by the Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo.
Beyond Ghana, the company is working to expand its footprint across West Africa and the entire African region as a whole. Plans are underway to export power to neighbouring countries, strengthening regional energy integration and supporting broader access to stable electricity within the sub-region.
Mr. Kwame Wang, chairman of Sunon Asogli Power, received the award on behalf of the company. Speaking after the event, Mr. Wang expressed his gratitude to the organizers for the honour and dedicated the award to its employees and the communities it serves. Sunon Asogli Power reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to affordable and sustainable power, not just in Ghana, but across the West African sub-region.
