Empowering the Next Generation: Sunon Asogli Power Supports Kpone Community SHS

Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited Company continues to demonstrate its commitment to community development through a recent donation to Kpone Community Senior High School. On 19th March 2026, the company donated GH₵30,000.00 to support teaching and learning, particularly in the areas of ICT and science education. This initiative forms part of the company’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at strengthening education within the Kpone community.

The presentation ceremony brought together school leadership, including the headmaster, Mr. Ebo Quansah; his assistants; and departmental heads. In his welcome remarks, Mr. Quansah highlighted the strong and longstanding relationship between the school and Sunon Asogli Power. He commended the potential and creativity of the students, noting that with the right resources, they are capable of achieving outstanding results.

The funds are earmarked for the procurement of desktops for the school’s computer laboratory, as well as electronic microscopes for the science department. These resources are expected to enhance practical learning, improve digital literacy, and align the school’s teaching with the demands of the New Standard-Based Curriculum.

The Chairman of Sunon Asogli Power, Mr. Kwame Wang, underscored the importance of ICT and science as foundational pillars for future career opportunities. He noted that empowering students in these areas is critical to developing the next generation of innovators and leaders.

In receiving the donation, the headmaster expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that increased student enrollment has placed significant pressure on existing facilities. He emphasized that upgrading the ICT laboratory is a priority and assured the company that the funds would be used effectively. He also extended an invitation for Sunon Asogli Power to return and witness the impact of their contribution once the equipment is installed.

Speaking at the donation, Mr. Bernard Bortei, Local Administration and Human Resource Manager, emphasized that the donation goes beyond financial support. He described it as a strategic investment in the future of the students and encouraged them to remain committed to their academic pursuits.
