Delegation from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) Visits Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited Company

A delegation from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security paid a visit Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited Company for a courtesy visit and exchange of views. The delegation comprised Ms. Shen Lihong, UNDSS Representative for Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia; Mr. Franck Odilon Mabushi, an official of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sierra Leone; and Ms. Seraphine Wakana, United Nations Resident Coordinator for Sierra Leone. During the visit, the United Nations delegation presented Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited with an Honorary Award for Safety Support.

The delegation toured the plant, accompanied by the company’s chairman, Mr. Wang Jinxiao. He briefed the visitors on Sunon Asogli Power’s operations in Ghana, its safety management framework, and its engagement with local communities.  United Nations officials said the company had maintained stable operations and safety standards despite operating in a challenging environment. They added that its approach to safety management and cooperation with local partners had contributed to the operational environment for United Nations activities in the region. 

Sunon Asogli Power reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining an open, prudent, and responsible development philosophy. The company pledged to continue its dual focus on advancing clean energy projects while actively supporting the United Nations and its agencies in fulfilling their missions across Ghana and West Africa.
