Sunon Asogli Power took another meaningful step in building an inclusive workplace by hosting the opening and award ceremony for the 6th batch of its Chinese language training program. Held in the company’s training room, the event celebrated staff who are taking the initiative to learn the Chinese language, a program made possible through a partnership with the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana. The Chinese language program reflects the company’s genuine belief in investing in its people, bridging cultures, and creating a workplace where both Ghanaian and Chinese employees can truly connect and thrive together.
The ceremony was chaired by the General Manager of Sunon Asogli Power, Mr. Zhang Jinsong, and graced by Prof. Liu Baijun, the Chinese Director of UG-Confucius Institute
Speaking at the event, General Manager of Sunon Asogli Power, Mr. Zhang Jinsong, highlighted the strategic importance of cross-cultural communication in a multinational working environment. “At Sunon Asogli Power, we believe that language is the golden key to bridging cultures and building trust. Our long-term success in Ghana is deeply rooted in our localization strategy. By empowering our local workforce with bilingual skills, we are not only enhancing their individual career competitiveness but also building a highly cohesive and efficient international team.” Mr Zhang Jinsong also expressed his profound gratitude to Prof. Liu Baijun and the Confucius Institute- UG teaching team for their unwavering support and provision of high-quality, accessible education to the company’s staff.

All 21 employees who sat for the December 2025 Chinese proficiency exam (HSK1) passed. Among them, three employees had a perfect score and were awarded the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship at the Confucius Institute, University of Ghana, Legon. These results show that the program is truly making a positive impact in the lives of our employees.
